Third Eye Blind

Was hanging out yesterday on one of our favorite eateries when this
song played on the radio. I can't, for the life of me, remember what
the title was and who sang it (getting old, most probably).

Neil, OC guy that he is, looked it up online the
minute he logged on and shot me an IM.

It's Third Eye Blind and their song Never Let You Go.

Thanks, man!

I Want to get some Sleeep...

I barely had four hours of sleep.

I’m up supervising the final touches on a major site we’re doing that’s going live in a few hours. It’s our first big gig in terms of web development and I’m as jittery as a bug. Everything’s going well so far but I’ve already had several bad run-ins with the infamous Mr. Murphy (famous author of Murphy’s Law) so I’ll breathe easier when I see everything already up and working.

Assuming everything goes well (and I’m really praying hard that it does), I’m going to eat a hearty breakfast, get some sleep first, then treat myself really well for the rest of the day.

Here Comes Monday!

The weekend pretty much came and went like a snap.

I feel like I was run over by a truck considering the sheer amount of work I had to do over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So much work indeed that I actually missed watching Transformers which I was supposed to see last Saturday.

Hopefully I’ll be able to see it tomorrow.

The Boob Tube?

I haven’t regularly watched television for more than seven years now.

People find this a strange thing and I wonder about it myself sometimes.

It all started out when I moved to Manila from Los Banos, Laguna to work in the corporate sector. I didn’t have enough money from my meager salary to spare to buy a television much less for a cable subscription which pretty much explains why I didn’t catch much TV shows back then.

Today is another story altogether however.

I got several things going all at once (business-wise) giving me a comfortable financial leeway yet I still don’t watch TV. In fact, the television I got at home is hooked up to a PS2 unit. Mind you I do get a peek at the ole boob tube (oooh...boob) every now and then whenever I visit my mom in the province.

Aside from that however, my life is mostly bereft of television.

I get all my home entertainment online.

The Long Weekend

My electricity got cut off last Thursday.

Apparently the bill payment service I frequent downstairs in my condominium building neglected to pay the electric provider on time which is a bummer since I made it a point to pay at least five days in advance to avoided getting disconnected (which happened anyway).

I had a ton of stuff I needed to get done over the weekend and all of the tasks required electricity to be accomplished. What's worse was that Friday was a national holiday which meant I had to wait until Saturday until I got reconnected.

I had to suffer a day and a half without electricity.

Well, I didn't really suffer. Not really...

A funny thing happened as soon as my phone died, their last erg of energy dying away: I actually got some proper rest!

With no work to distract me I managed to accomplish some stuff that I kept putting off. I finished a good book I bought months ago that was accumulating dust in my shelf, I caught up on some much needed sleep, and basically just sat around doing nothing for once.

Obviously, power's back on and I got everything sorted at the power provider's office. I am now back on my desk working my ass off.

Switching off and dropping out, even for just a day, did me a world of good however.

You guys should try it sometime.
